[Solved] Can my forum be hidden from Google?
#1
I would like to prevent Googlebot from accessing my forums. I've gone out to Google's support forums and learned about the robots.txt file, and I can point my browser to http://komerfamily.createmybb.com/robots.txt and browse what is apparently the robots.txt file for my forum.

Is there any way I can have the robots.txt file for my forum changed so that it consists of the following lines only?

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

No, there is no way to do that. Even though it might look otherwise, every forum runs off of the same set of files - so if we were to change it for you, we would have to change it for everyone, which we won't be doing.

You can shut your forum off to guests, though, if you'd like.

I wanna turn off Guests viewing the site. How do you do that?

Admin CP -> Users and Groups -> Manage Groups -> Unregistered / Note Logged In -> Edit Usergroup -> Go

Find "Can View Board" and set to No.
