what is a shoutbox?

im guessing its like a chat room for everyone to see but how do i configure it and how many messages can be written on it until they dissapear?
and also how do i show a users location on the forum?

It's not a chatroom, it's a little place on your forum where random messages can be posted by your members. When you activate the plugin, you can change those settings under 'board settings' > 'change'.

User's location: view who's online?

who and when you hold the mouse over their name shows where they are and in what forum

I just use it to post random stuff that doesn't really belong to any thread.

Also things like:

Check out the "example" thread for information on computer games

or something like that, as to get more visitors on the page.

I think its quite a nifty little tool actually.
