Permissions not being honoured
#1
Forum is cb1300.createmybb4.com

I have it set so that a new person can join, but they need to be activated by me (or another admin). While in that state, they can view forums but cannot post.

I had one join this morning and was able to post without being activated. When I checked the forum, it was set to allow those awaiting activation to view but NOT to post - but he was able to do so.

This can't be right - or have I misinterpreted something.

Help???

One point - it seems he was using tapatalk on his phone. Does that bypass restrictions?

I checked by creating an account and logging in using a web browser and I could not reply to any posts.

That could be it with tapatalk probably doesn't take permission in account and just allows posting.

Check under taptatalk settings in mybb admin area for
User Group Assignment
You can assign users registered with Tapatalk to specific user groups. If you do not assign them to a specific group, they will be assigned a default group.

Oh thanks. That's what's happened.

But that's awful. I want it to follow the myBB permissions.

I'll disable it for now.
