Where are announcements supposed to go?

Slight issue with hoc.createmybb4.com

I have set up an announcement having had Jon move my form over from icyboards (thanks Jon). But the announcement doesn't display where I was expecting it to - actually, it doesn't display at all. I have installed the announcement plugin.

What have I missed?

The announcement should display in a coloured banner at the top of your home page. Have you tried uninstalling and then re-installing the plugin?

I just discovered that you can make announcements appear on all pages (like they did in icy). In the admin CP, go to Configuration | Settings | Board Announcements Manager (at the bottom of the page). Then set "Display Announcements Globally?" to whatever you want.
