Promotion
#1
I was wondering if it would be possible for their to be a plug-in to create a way to automatically "promote" users to different groups as their post count increases?

For example, at 0 posts they would become "Registered User". And you could edit their permissions to only be able to post...

... then when they reach for example 10 posts, they become "Super User" group and they gain the power to edit...

...Then at 20 posts, they become "Mega User" group and they can create polls

...etc

I know this is included already, (setting the permissions of groups) but you have to edit every user and put them into the groups manually, which would be really difficult if the forums successful.

I wasn't sure exactly where to post this. I really hope this can be done, its the only thing I see thats included in "other forums" software that isn't here... I recently switched because of all the features here that "other forums" don't have Big Grin, but this is one feature I would dearly miss...

Hope this is possible!

I don't know what version that this service uses, and I also don't know what the version everyone is eagerly awaiting an upgrade to here, but I requested this feature to the official MyBB board site, and was told that this feature will be included default in version MyBB version 1.4.

So, I don't know how long we'll have to wait, but it is coming soon hopefully!

But it'd still be really helpful if someone could create a mod like this, even if its just a crude temporary thing. Big Grin

No, they're on 1.2 right now, and the upcoming release will be 1.4 Wink Odd version numbers of MyBB are development, as of 1.2.

Round? That sounds more like an integer. You must mean even. Toungue
